Privacy Policy

Completix Inc. is a corporation formed pursuant to the Canada Business Corporations Act. Further to our Terms of Service, this Privacy Policy sets out how we collect, store, and use personal information and cookies. By agreeing to our Terms or using the Completix Platform, you consent to the collection and use of personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy, which may be updated from time to time.

Part I — Collection of personal information

The Personal Information of Other Individuals

If you provide us with or upload data that includes another individual's personal information, you represent and warrant that you have that individual's consent to provide it to us for use under this Privacy Policy and our Terms. If you do not have their consent, you agree not to upload or provide us with that personal information.

Information We Collect

To establish an account or use the Completix Platform, we may collect or automatically log the following:

  • Full name
  • Business name(s)
  • Mailing address
  • Billing address
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Banking and/or credit card information
  • Comments, feedback, reviews, and other content you upload or provide
  • IP address and related location data, and website statistics and analytics regarding your use of the platform
  • Other raw data about how you interact with the platform, such as browser information and session duration
  • Profile photos
  • Any other information you voluntarily provide to us

Payment Processing

We collect credit card and payment information via a third-party payment processor. As of the last update to this Privacy Policy, we use Stripe, Inc. and its affiliated entities, whose privacy policy is available directly from Stripe. When you provide payment details on the Completix Platform, you are providing them to Stripe. We do not have access to your entire credit card number, though we can bill your card and may access certain details such as the name on the card, billing address, and expiration date.

Part II — Use of personal information

How We Use Personal Information

We do not sell personal information to third parties. We may use personal information to:

  • Facilitate operation of the Completix Platform, including sharing or providing access to information to Third-Party Providers
  • Bill and collect money owed to us
  • Verify your contact information
  • Send account notifications associated with projects you're a member of
  • Provide user support and improve the Completix Platform
  • Communicate with you about your account or services we offer
  • Send informational and promotional materials, which you can unsubscribe from at any time
  • Pursue available legal remedies, and prosecute or defend a court, arbitration, or similar proceeding
  • Meet legal requirements or seek legal advice in connection with your use of the platform
  • Enforce compliance with our Terms and applicable laws

Part III — Disclosure of personal information

Sharing Personal Information if Required by Law

We may share personal information and content collected, uploaded, or provided to us if required by law, such as in response to a subpoena, court order, or other legal process in any jurisdiction. Where legally required to disclose your personal information, we may, but are not obligated to, provide you with written notice of the disclosure, if permitted by law.

Sharing to Cooperate with Investigations and Law Enforcement

Absent a court order, subpoena, or other legal requirement, we may share personal information and content associated with your account to cooperate with law enforcement in investigating a criminal matter, if we reasonably believe doing so is necessary or beneficial to protecting your safety or the safety of a third party.

Sharing Personal Information with Third-Party Providers

Our suppliers, partners, independent contractors, and employees (collectively, "Third-Party Providers") may have access to personal information in providing services to us or providing you access to the Completix Platform. We use a variety of Third-Party Providers to host the platform and facilitate its ordinary use, including hosting servers that store personal information.

We may update this list from time to time as the Completix Platform evolves. Each Third-Party Provider may have its own agreements and privacy policies governing the personal information we or you provide them. We also use email and mailing list providers who store emails and documents that may contain your personal information.

Your Personal Information May Not Be Stored in Canada

As we may have servers, Third-Party Providers, employees, and other parties we share your personal information with in locations both inside and outside Canada, your personal information may become subject to foreign laws and foreign legal proceedings.

European General Data Protection Regulation

Our privacy practices are designed to meet the requirements of the GDPR. As a company that may process the personal information of European persons, we have implemented technical and organizational measures to meet GDPR requirements, taking into account current available technology, implementation costs, and the nature, scope, context, and purposes of the personal information collected.

If you provide us with or upload personal information belonging to European persons, you represent and warrant that your collection and storage procedures comply with the GDPR at all times, and that you have obtained informed consent for the international transfer of their information to us. If that consent is later revoked, you agree to inform us immediately. You acknowledge that your personal information will be accessed by us in Canada, though it may be stored with Third-Party Providers both in and outside Canada.

Sharing Personal Information if Our Business or Platform is Acquired

We may share personal information with our successors, if our business or the Completix Platform is acquired by another legal entity, or with any assignee of our assets relating to the platform. Disclosure in such circumstances is governed by the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

Disclaimer and Warning About Sharing Personal Information Online

You acknowledge that sharing personal information online always carries a risk of data breaches, including breaches in which third parties unlawfully access our systems or the systems of our Third-Party Providers that store personal information.

While we take measures to protect personal information, you agree that, to the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable, however caused, including by negligence, for the loss or theft of your personal information or any resulting damages, so long as we were not directly and grossly negligent in protecting that information.

Retention of Your Personal Information

We keep your personal information for as long as required for the purpose it was collected. There is no single retention period that applies to every category of personal information we collect. Contact us if you would like us to delete personal information we hold about you following the termination of your account.

Part IV — Our use of cookies

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files sent to and automatically downloaded by your browser when you visit the Completix Platform, assuming cookies are enabled. A cookie is stored in your browser and lets our website and our Third-Party Providers recognize you and track activity across sites, usually in conjunction with logging your IP address. Cookies can be persistent, remaining after you close your browser, or session-based, deleted as soon as you close it.

Can You Block the Use of Cookies?

Most browsers let you disable cookies. However, the Completix Platform, or certain components of it, may not operate properly if cookies are disabled, and you may not be able to access or use the platform at all.

Can You Delete Cookies Once Downloaded?

Most browsers also let you delete cookies through their settings, which vary by browser. Instructions are available directly from Chrome, Firefox, and Safari's own support pages, or from your browser's official documentation.

How We Use Cookies

We primarily use cookies to analyze how you use the platform, such as which pages you visit most, to help us understand your experience and improve future updates. This includes our use of Google Analytics; see Google's information page on cookie usage in Analytics for details. We, or Third-Party Providers we use to enable cookies, may also use them to remember choices you've made on the platform, such as your language, region, or username.
